While I haven’t been blogging so much due to time commitments I have been putting in to other things, it was good to come back and write this all out. It was a bit less busy year for concerts and events but those we attended were as good as ever.
Phantogram, Muse, and Noe Venable.
All Things Must Pass: The Rise and Fall of Tower Records, Mark Z. Danielewski, and Vienna Teng.
Don Henley, Janet Jackson, Garbage in Chicago and Madison, Madonna, MS MR, and The Best Worst.
“Well, look what the cat dragged in…” That’s how Shirley Manson greeted a crowd of around 60 people for the VIP soundcheck at Oakland’s Fox Theater. My wife and I were among that crowd and while we’ve seen Garbage many times, this was a bit different than normal.
My wife tells me I should write something about Garbage. No, not debris or detritus, the band.
We haven’t been to SDCC in years, but there are plenty of offsite things there now which make a trip down worthwhile.
Before we headed out to the southeast and then the middle, we headed just south to San Mateo and the 10th anniversary edition of Maker Faire Bay Area.
My wife thought it would be a good idea for me to document the little events that have made up the past couple of weeks, including Trio Sentier with Marika Hughes, and Game Loading: Rise of the Indies.
This weekend was huge. We were double or triple booked from Friday through Sunday and had to make some hard choices.
